Port City Marina is a protected, 194-slip marina situated along the Cape Fear River in downtown Wilmington. The marina can accommodate a wide variety of vessel lengths and beams including slips up to 250 feet in length. Port City Marina is a full-service marina offering fuel, modern boater facilities (such as showers and laundry), and best-in-class service. The marina's premiere location offers boaters access to the many attractions of downtown Wilmington including shows at Live Oak Bank Pavilion or the Wilson Center, and dozens of dining options within walking distance.
The marina was the keystone for development of the Marina District that anchored the upland development which followed. The spoils from the basin excavation provided critical fill to raise the surrounding sites allowing for cost-effective development of the uplands. The marina site was of historical significance to Wilmington, operating as a shipping terminal from over a century before its recent redevelopment. The 600-foot concrete pier on site that once docked cargo ships, now offers waterfront access to thousands each year for concerts, dining, and front row views of the sunset.
